PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

At the core of ANAC's mission is the commitment to provide professional development opportunities for nurses involved in HIV, viral Hepatitis and other infectious diseases. This includes:

ACLPN/ACRN/AACRN Certification - The HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board (HANCB) is a nonprofit professional organization whose goals are:

  • improve the quality of HIV/AIDS nursing care and prevention
  • to promote competency of nurses caring for persons with HIV/AIDS
  • to recognize this professional achievement through a certification and recertification process

Continuing Education - Continuing education through a variety of formats and opportunities provides the basis for nursing practice.  Contact hours are available by attending ANAC's annual conference and other educational activities throughout the year. The webinars are available on-demand by clicking on the title. Some sessions include the opportunity to achieve NCPD credits.

ANAC Accredited Nursing Education- ANAC is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. .

International Nursing Network for HIV/AIDS Research - Anyone who is interested in HIV/AIDS nursing is welcome and invited to join. This includes both nurses and non-nurses, as well as students, faculty members and practicing nurses.
