Professional Development
At the core of ANAC's mission is the commitment to provide professional development opportunities for nurses involved in the delivery of health care to individuals infected with or affected by HIV. The following components are key to ANAC's fulfilling this mission:
Certification - The HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board (HANCB) is a nonprofit professional organization whose goals are: (1) improve the quality of HIV/AIDS nursing care and prevention; (2) to promote competency of nurses caring for persons with HIV/AIDS; and (3) to recognize this professional achievement through a certification and recertification process. Continuing Education - Continuing education through a variety of formats and opportunities provides the basis for our nursing practice. Continuing education hours and credits are available by attending ANAC's Annual Conference. As ANAC moves into our next developmental phase, there will be numerous on-line opportunities for CE.
