Chapter Advocacy

Nurses have an influential and powerful voice as public policy advocates. ANAC encourages our chapter members to engage in local, state and national advocacy efforts.

  • All advocacy efforts should align with the ANAC policy agenda.
  • Policy is organized around four pillars:

  • Advocacy efforts can take the form of:
    • Letters (sign-on letters, letters to editor, etc.)
    • Coalitions (chapters or individual members can join local and regional coalitions)
    • Written and verbal testimony (school board, county commission, city council, state legislature, etc.)
    • Meetings and marches

Always state that you are a nurse! If you have question about how to get involved, please contact Carole Treston.
