This pre-conference is a repeat of our successful publishing workshops at the ANAC conferences. It is designed to help authors (new and experienced) develop manuscripts in ways that will increase the likelihood of publication, especially in the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care. It will cover the basics of manuscript preparation, the ethics of publishing, and the manuscript submission and review process.
Objectives: At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Describe formatting and content guidelines for submission of a manuscript to an academic journal.
Summarize publishing ethical standards using at least one specific example.
List the steps necessary to submit an article through Elsevier Electronic Submission system.
Define the peer review process, including the roles of the author and the editors.

Continuing Education Contact Hours
This activity has been submitted to the Ohio Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. The Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91) is an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Attendance is limited to no more than 25 participants to allow for individualized and interactive activities. Participants will be registered for the workshop on a first-come, first-served basis.
