Application Process

HANCB announced a new application process in 2021 that is more user-friendly and reflects adult education approaches. The in-person testing requirement has been replaced with self-paced online learning modules using the National HIV Curriculum.

The new process is:

  1. Review the eligibility requirements to determine the appropriate level of certification for ACLPN, ACRN and AACRN.
  2. Complete and submit the application form and payment for the level of certification you are seeking: ACLPN, ACRN or AACRN.
  3. After submitting your application, your eligibility will be verified by the HANCB national office. This process may take up to 7-10 business days. Once your application is approved, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to join the appropriate group on the National HIV Curriculum website.

You will have up to six months to complete the required lessons/modules. Learn more about the National HIV Curriculum and review the lessons required for each level of certification.

HANCB now offers group discounts, of either 10 or 20% off, across all initial certification levels. Click here for more information.
