Nurses and nurse practitioners encounter many lab tests in daily practice.  This program focuses on specialty labs that are used to treat and monitor HIV disease and HIV-related conditions.  The program will review common specialty tests including resistance tests (genotype and phenotype), interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) tests for TB infection, tropism assays, and HLA-B*5701 genetic testing.  Using a case study format, participants will be able to integrate laboratory concepts into clinical practice.
